Friendship Bridge

With an elevation of 1,800 meters, the Friendship Bridge as the border between Nepal and China is a huge armored concrete bridge spanning from the east to the west.

History
The construction of the bridge was completed in 1964.

Architecture / Structure / Each scenery

The bridge is about 8 meters wide and 45 meters long. It’s flanked by low railings on its two banks. On the terminal belonging to China stand the Friendship Office and Friendship Pavilion in an octagonal shape for locals and tourists to have a rest. In the center of the lawn beside the pavilion, there’s a vivid stone carving depicting a boy riding an elephant.
Although this is a bridge, no vehicles are permitted to cross.


Admission fee.

Tourists are free of charge to have a tour of the bridge.
